Right in the middle of the Albert Cuyp market, Bazar serves North African and Middle-Eastern style cuisine.  Halal meat. Open from 11am on weekdays and 9am on weekends.

Cafe Giraf: Kinkerstraat 24, 1053 DV (www.cafegiraf.nl)  separate playroom for toddlers, children's food, high chair.
A small cafe, catering to the needs of mothers with babies or very small children.
The separate playroom is well-equipped and ideal for children who are crawling or have just learned to walk.

Close to Westerpark.

"Sunday is for Kids" between 13:00 - 17:00 with face painting. 

Het Groot Melkhuis: Vondelpark 2, 1071 AA (www.grootmelkhuis.nl) high chair.
This is a great place to eat with kids with its huge outdoor playground: sand pit, swings, slide and climbing frames, right in the middle of the Vondelpark. On Wednesdays and weekends there is usually a bouncy castle, plus candy floss and popcorn for sale. Unfortunately, in the summer months they do charge 30 cents for using the toilet. 

Kantijl & De Tijger: Spuistraat 291/293, 1012 VS (www.kantjil.nl) children's menu, high chair, toys and colouring pages. 
Indonesian food. 

Magazzino: Jollemanhof 19, 1019 GW (www.magazzinoamsterdam.nl) children's menu, high chair, indoor play area and toys. 

Moeders: Watertorenplein 6, 1051 PA (www.moeders.com) children's menu, high chair, toys and colouring pages, serves lunch at weekends only.
Typical Dutch-style home cooked food. 

Pacific Parc: Polonceaukade 23, Cultuurpark Westergasfabriek, 1014 DA, 020-4887778 (www.pacificparc.nl) children's menu, high chair, toys and colouring pages.
Great place for coffee, lunch or dinner if you are at Westerpark. Loads of space for the kids to runaround outside. In winter there is a skating rink. Suitable for larger numbers.

The Pancake Bakery: Prinsengracht 191A, 1015 DS, 020-6251333 (www.pancake.nl) high chair.
Traditional Dutch pancakes - so beware they are very filling. Convenient location if you are visiting Anne Frank's House or the Westerkerk area.

De Rijncantine: Trompenburgstraat 147, 1079 TW (www.rijncantine.nl) children's menu, high chair, terrace and playground outside. 

Sea Palace Chinese Restaurant: Oosterdokskade 8, 1011AE (www.seapalace.nl) high chair
On a boat near Central Station and the Central Library. A spacious restaurant with several floors and a nice view of Amsterdam. There are tropical fish and koi to look at which is always of interest to the children. Dim Sum lunch is fun for children. I recommend ordering: fried turnip cake, spring rolls, fried Peking dumplings, flat rice noodles dry fried with beef, yang chow fried rice, Malaysian-style sponge cake (sweet).
